Internal Communication Employee Engagement -Myassignmenthelp.Com
Question: Examine About The Internal Communication Employee Engagement? Answer: Presentation Work environment correspondence is a vital piece of creating collaboration. As per Coombs (2015), it is basic to recognize the basic breakdowns in the correspondence procedure at the working environment. This recognizable proof of the issues would be useful enough in correcting the issues and advancement of the communicational straightforwardness inside the association. Reestablishing the correspondence lines is a lot of helpful in improving the profitability and keeping up cohesiveness among the representatives (Men 2014). The investigation therefore centers around a portion of the particular issues happen inside an authoritative setting identified with the communicational angles. The report would be introduced dependent on the issues in interfacing representatives at ABC Limited. In light of the distinguished issues, a portion of the ideal proposals would likewise be introduced in this investigation. Issues with Connecting the Employees Working in a corporate setting requests for the proper properties and fitting communicational techniques. Representatives need to keep up the suitable communicational ascribes to build up the cohesiveness and achieve the business objectives. In the vast majority of the cases, it has been seen that the working environment correspondence issues become the significant hindrance in keeping up the successive pace of authoritative functionalities (Shockley-Zalabak 2014). Absence of two-way correspondence is very risky for a hierarchical setting. While keeping up the absolutist initiative, the pioneers will in general present their interests without talking with different workers. On the off chance that the messages are not passed on suitably with the partners, it would influence the benefit level of the organization. While working inside an association, the representatives likewise look for advantages and inspirations. The business chiefs are answerable for creating such feeling of occupation fulfillment among these representatives by setting up the communicational straightforwardness. At the point when the workers get the solace level to discuss appropriately with the business heads to introduce their interests, it creates the feeling of unwavering quality. Besides, as clarified by Bratu (2016), the business heads additionally require passing on or sharing messages through powerful correspondence, which would help in dealing with the authoritative functionalities in an orderly manner. This procedure would help in associating the representatives much altogether. Furthermore, the representatives even look for their own and expert development inside an association. The foundation of the powerful correspondence would assist these workers with developing these abilities and act in a gainful manner. The organization, consequently, would be profited with the compelling presentation parameter. At the point when the organization understands the need of improving the communicational procedure, it is fundamental to perceive the best medium to passing on the messages and guarantee the message is reasonable (Mishra, Boynton and Mishra 2014). The accompanying techniques can be utilized for interfacing the representatives broadly by building up the inside correspondence. These issues are very conspicuous inside an association. So as to moderate such recognizable communicational issues, it is important to execute the suitable communicational techniques. Inadequate Maintenance of the Weekly Correspondence to the Employees The representatives need to get the best possible sends from the administrative area advising about the work environment functionalities, which is the very impressive issue at ABC Limited. It is basic for the business heads to make the representatives mindful of the hierarchical objectives and targets at the underlying stage. Offering vision to these representatives would be a lot of helpful to achieve the business objectives. The business chiefs need to send the week after week sends to the representatives for advising or monitoring the advancement with respect to the authoritative capacities (Eisenberg, Johnson and Pieterson 2015). This correspondence type is very useful for serving chances to interface and connect with the related workforce. Absence of straightforward correspondence and Interpersonal Relationship The business heads do not have the vision of look past the open doors that can lead the business towards progress at ABC Limited. So as to satisfy such destinations, they have to connect increasingly proficient workers. It is essential for them to develop the correspondence straightforwardness and successful relational associations with the representatives so as to make them agreeable enough to introduce their interests (Men 2015). They can without much of a stretch offer their interests on the off chance that they discover comfort in speaking with the business chiefs. This procedure would assist them with improvising their exhibition parameter and make the positive development towards making progress. Truth be told, with the assistance of such procedure, they can even create the feeling of unwavering quality and thankfulness to work in a superior manner. Worries with week by week meeting courses of action The business heads need to organize the face-toface conversation meeting with the workers at any rate once in seven days. The organization isn't visit in orchestrating such up close and personal gathering. This eye to eye discussion is essential to watch the non-verbal communication while they are speaking with the pioneers. Also, this gathering can be successful one when the workers would share their interests actually and up close and personal with the administrators. Besides, this discussion can bring some creative thoughts for driving the association in a one of a kind way. This discussion meeting fills in as one of the most supportive procedures of drawing in the workers in a gathering conversation and building up their own and expert abilities. Issues in Responding back to each worker mail The representatives should be perceived for their endeavors, which is a critical issue in ABC Limited. In this way, when any representative sends letters to the pioneers by raising any worry, they don't get the best possible affirmation. The business directors or pioneers need to react back to the mail inside a specified time. It would create the feeling of presence among the representatives that would inspire them to act in a superior manner. They regularly feel acknowledged and heard that makes contrasts in their exhibition level. Development of data hindrance The business chiefs need to adopt hands-on strategy to pass on the data to the workers. Lion's share of the representatives don't get the fundamental data about the hierarchical functionalities at ABC Limited. The representatives are constantly required to be refreshed with the essential data. At the point when the representatives are associated with the business functionalities, it is fundamental for them to get the sufficient data about the authoritative functionalities. The pioneers need to assume the liability of breaking the hindrances of data and give the fundamental updates through straightforward interchanges. This strategy is a lot of huge in connecting with the workers in a corporate social setting. It is even noticed that when the representatives are refreshed about the fundamental data, they can give their earnest attempts to achieve the objectives. Absence of individual and expert development Worker commitment relies upon the broad inspiration gave by the business chiefs. Each representative looks for the individual and expert development when they are related with the corporate situation. The organization needs such open door for the related representatives. The business chiefs need to make such chance to make the representatives locked in. The pioneers need to give the workers enough chance to make the constructive move towards their expert and self-awareness. It would be useful if the pioneers can legitimately speak with the workers to comprehend the qualities and shortcoming. Giving them the productive input would likewise be powerful in such setting. The representatives in like manner would detect their qualities inside the association that would make them occupied with a corporate setting. Absence of Continuous checking of the exhibition and giving criticism It is fundamental for the business chiefs to screen the exhibition of the representatives every now and again. The business heads at ABC Limited don't give such criticism to the representatives. At the point when the business chiefs can give the fundamental input to these workers, it would cause them to comprehend their downsides. They can without much of a stretch work on these holes and make enhancements for their presentation parameter. It builds up the comprehension about the activity duty and connects with the representatives as needs be. Wrong Use of Social media to interface the representatives As indicated by Dawson (2017), the acknowledgment of worker commitment esteems is driving the association to embrace the most favored method of expanding information sharing and empowering cooperation. Online networking is along these lines chosen for improving the inner correspondence with the workers at ABC Limited. The internet based life use inside the organization isn't so much viable. The organization can set up an online networking stage for the inside workforce. The workers can draw in into beneficial conversation unpleasant such stage and can permit the correspondence stream (Jin, Liu and Austin 2014). Particularly, if there should be an occurrence of the internationalized organization, it helps in interfacing professional workplaces worldwide to determine the clever information about the imaginative work rehearses. Absence of Employee Rewards and Recognition The business heads can make the workers associated with the authoritative functionalities by perceiving their worth. The organization needs to give more consideration on this setting all the more explicitly. The advancement of the interior correspondence helps in understanding the representative worth that would be increasingly powerful for the future possibilities. At the point when the representatives would detect the productivity of their commitment, it would assist them with working in a superior manner. It wou

The clash of Normandy was the significant defining moment in the Second World War. It was an all around arranged out assault of the Allies on western France against the Germans. Numerous individuals know a little about the day, however scarcely any think about the long arranging, methodology, and results for the two sides. Toward the finish of November, Roosevelt and Churchill traveled to Tehran for their first gathering with Stalin. The president and the Prime Minister had just affirmed, under the code name Overlord, an arrangement for a cross-channel assault. Roosevelt wholeheartedly preferred executing Overlord as right off the bat in 1944 as the climate allowed. Boss Meteorologist for Eisenhower stated, ââ¬Å"By the time the gathering was because of start we were unable to hope to have a total arrangement of surface level and upper air diagrams yet a bunch of reports from a couple of basic territories west and south-west of Ireland, if reliable among themselves, would choose the issue-the alarming issue whether Overlord would be unquestionably delayed for in any event 24 hours or go unalterably forward to the ambush on the shores of France at first light next mourningâ⬠(Stagg 100-101). At Tehran, Churchill contended for offering need to Italy and conceivable new offensives in the Balkans or s outhern France, yet he was outvoted by Roosevelt and Stalin. Overlord was set for May 1944. After the gathering, the CCS reviewed Eisenhower from the Mediterranean and provided him order of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces (SHAEF), which was to sort out and convey o...

Urban Health Report Example Urban Health Report â" Essay Example > Analysis of Health inequalities as an Urban Health Issue in London Borough of Kensington and ChelseaIntroductionAccording to Marmot (2010) health inequalities as experienced in London is at an increase. The Marmot review statistics established that Kensington and Chelsea registered the highest rate, claiming that in one ward a person is expected to live up to 88 years while in another within the same borough a person will live to only 72 years (Marmot, 2010). According to the World Health Organization (2009) âHealth inequalities, are unfair disparities observed in health outcomes between individuals or groups of peopleâ. The WHO Report (2009) further argues that health inequalities are associated with the social and economic gaps experienced by different people that may further compel them to indulge in specific behaviors and lifestyle choices that later place their health at risks as well as deny them the opportunity to overcome any health implications resulting from their ac tions. This essay examines the levels of health inequalities in London borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The essay will start by discussing the rationale behind health inequalities as an urban health issue in Kensington and Chelsea. Data from previous studies will be looked into and further discussed based on the social and economic determinants of health inequalities in London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Epidemiology data will be analyzed and used for comparison purposes. In the subsequent section, this essay will discuss the public health consequences and implications that are linked to, the population of London as a whole, the Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea, on the individual and public health. The essay will further carry out an assessment on the strategies and interventions that have been put in place by the health officials as a means to fight health inequality. As part of the concluding remarks the essay will provide a summary on the main points as well as make a number of recommendations. Background and RationaleThe London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is an urban setting whose population is made up of a large number of the young people who are the working age and a slightly low number of children (Marmot, 2010). In addition to this, the borough of Kensington and Chelsea was ranked as the sixth borough with the highest population mobility rate. According to the statistics by the office of the national statistics, such a population structure influences the kind and range of services that residents in a borough can receive (Office of National Statistics, 2012). Furthermore, an increase in population mobility in any urban setting creates barriers on effective administration of public health services like screening and immunization. Marmot (2010) argues that despite the high rate of life expectancy in Kensington and Chelsea, there are still a number of cases on poor health. Poor health in this area is mostly characterized by poor living standards among people residing in areas that are mostly deprived which result to large inequalities (Marmot Review Team, 2010). Figure 1 Population Structure 2010According to the National Equality Panel (2010) poverty and deprivation are identified as the top most factors that deny a population of enough opportunities as well as resources therefore leading to health inequalities. During the 2010 census in London, Kensington and Chelsea came 103 as the most deprived local authority in the country. The majority of wards that were deprived in this borough were mostly in the northern part of Kensington and Chelsea.

Solomon Northup An African American - 883 Words
Solomon Northup was an African American, born a free man, who lived in Saratoga Springs, New York with his wife Anne Hampton and their three children. Northup was a skilled violinist and farmer who was seeking employment in the spring of 1841; one night he met two men at a saloon, who both identified themselves to be affiliated with a circus, and they convinced him to accompany them on a journey to New York to perform with his superb violin skills on their traveling music show. They persuaded him by offering a very generous wage of ââ¬Å"one dollar for each dayââ¬â¢s services, and three dollars in addition for every night [he] played at their performancesâ⬠(2). Originally he was only going to New York but he was persuaded to travel further to Washington D.C. ââ¬â a state where slavery was legal. On route to Washington D.C. he was drugged by the two men (identified as Breach and Hamilton) who subsequently sold him into slavery at an auction in New Orleans. This was commo n for many ââ¬Å"freeâ⬠African Americans; predominantly males for their ability to be harder working in the fields. Often times the ââ¬Å"Negrosâ⬠would be kidnapped or lured away from their home with offers too good to be true and upon their capture they would be drugged, beaten and bonded to be sold into slavery; much like Solomon Northup. Risk-related Alcohol Consumption Influenced by...
Community services, health, and judicial systems are under strain from risk-related alcohol consumption and the associated behavioural and health problems (National Health and Medical Research Council 2011). Australian Alcohol Guidelines recommend drinking no more than 2 standard drinks per day for females, and no more than 4 standard drinks per day for males (Commonwealth of Australia, 2013). The guidelines also recommend at least 2 days free of alcohol per week (Commonwealth of Australia, 2013). Therefore, binge drinking, alcohol dependence, and alcohol abuse are risk-related due to being in excess of the recommended guidelines. Research has been conducted to ascertain contributing factors that make one person more likely to consume alcohol at risk-related levels than another. Suffering abuse and, or neglect as a child has been determined to have strong relationships with risk-related alcohol use (Shin et al., 2013; Benjet et al., 2013; Strine et al., 2009). Available research als o shows how the age of first alcoholic drink, the influence of peer pressure, and 3rd variable to balance and critique can also be used to track trajectories for risk-related alcohol consumption. According to the Oxford dictionary; abuse is the subjection to ââ¬Å"cruelty or violence, especially regularly or repeatedlyâ⬠, while neglect is the ââ¬Å"failure to care forâ⬠a child (Oxford University Press, 2014). string(98) " used in order to accomplish equal frequence of the grid and the electrical end product \[ 6 \] \." Abstraction With wind power engineerings deriving rapid impulse particularly offshore wind farm engineering, assorted issues affecting internal and external electrical connexion of offshore air current turbines to the grid arise. This literature reappraisal presents a survey of past researches refering offshore wind farm engineering and high spots wind farm connexion issues. Section 1 presents the debut of the subject followed by an overview of offshore air current farms in Section 2. We will write a custom essay sample on With wind power technologies or any similar topic only for you Order Now Following, types of generators used are discussed in Section 3. Section 4 and 5 nowadayss the nucleus of the research, detailing transmittal and interconnectedness of offshore air current farms utilizing both AC and DC severally. Finally the last subdivision concludes the reappraisal. Section One Introduction Wind power coevals has been on the rise as of late [ 1 ] . USA late took over Germany as the current universe ââ¬Ës leader of air current power capacity [ 2 ] , using air current energy as an option of electricity coevals. European states are preponderantly inclined towards wind power in add-on to Asiatic states such as China and India, which are amongst the top air current power manufacturers [ 2 ] . There is a bound to onshore air current farm connexion nevertheless, due to set down bounds and with the huge potency of air current harvest home from the seas and less obstructor compared to onshore air currents [ 3 ] , it is merely evident that the following logical measure is to travel into offshore wind farms. Furthermore, with changeless power produced from the changeless air current velocity of the sea [ 1 ] , and the possible combination of moving ridge and tidal power [ 4 ] , chances of offshore air current farms are promoting. Installations of offshore air current farms are non fiddling, as many factors and concerns are taken into history over the substructure and layout. The unsmooth hostile environment of the sea gives rather a challenge for installing and transmittal to the grid and it is a critical concern. Overall, there are several electrical challenges sing offshore air current farms in contrast to the mechanical challenges that has well reduced over the past decennary [ 1 ] . A major challenge sing offshore air current farms would be its transmittal from generator to the grid [ 5 ] . The conventional AC transmittals provide restrictions as offshore air current farms move farther off from the shore. These restrictions will be studied and possible solutions are to be recommended. This literature reappraisal presents an overview of grid connexion of offshore air current turbines, diging into types of generators used, every bit good as air current farm interconnectedness, transmittals of power to onshore grid and reappraisals of jobs related. Section Two General Overview of Offshore Wind Farms Wind farms are considered offshore if they are at least 30km from the seashore [ 6 ] . Presently, the biggest offshore air current farms has a capacity of up to 200MW [ 7 ] , with each turbines bring forthing 2-3MW. Offshore air current farms are dearly-won ( 30-60 % higher [ 4 ] ) than onshore due to the larger, higher rated power of turbines, undersea connexions and overall cost of installing and care [ 3 ] . Harmonizing to Reference [ 3 ] , air current farms have electrical subsystems which consist of: Internal medium-voltage ( MV ) grid for aggregation of power produced by single generators ; Offshore electrical substructure for transit of power to the shore ; Onshore system which link the farm to HV webs. The power produced by each air current turbine is collected via the internal MV grids utilizing either radial or pealing connected design [ 3 ] . Radial design, being the cheapest pick, uses a individual overseas telegram feeder that is connected to the turbines in contrast to the ring connected web where cabling and exchanging output higher costs. Radial design suffer from low dependability, though it can be improved by forking the radial feeders [ 3 ] . Depending on air current farm size and distance from shore, every bit good as environmental restriction, [ 3 ] nowadayss two strategies of electrical substructures for transporting power to the shore. Scheme 1 utilizations an seaward substation incorporating switchgears and transformers [ 8 ] , which step up electromotive forces and transmit it utilizing HV overseas telegrams, while Scheme 2 utilizations undersea MV overseas telegrams [ 3 ] . The defined point of common yoke ( PCC ) is where the offshore air current farm connects to the grid [ 3 ] . If an offshore substation is present beforehand ( Scheme 1 ) , the HV overseas telegrams are connected straight to the grid but if MV overseas telegrams are used for transmittal ( Scheme 2 ) , so an onshore step-up transformer is required with HV overseas telegrams before being fed to the grid [ 3 ] . Figure 1 below shows the two different electrical system strategies. Figure 1: Wind farm electrical system schemes [ 3 ] Offshore substation is normally required for electromotive forces above 33kv [ 9 ] and is costlier due to dearly-won indoor equipment and environmental protection [ 9 ] but contributes to take down power losingss and simpler electromotive force control [ 3 ] . Section Three Wind Turbines and Generators Different types of air current generators have been designed and manufactured within the past two decennaries, to provide to the demands of planetary air current power capacity every bit good as the turning development of air current power engineering [ 10 ] . These wind generators are designed to back up and manage mistakes on the grid [ 7 ] . There are assorted types of generators for air current turbines and they are categorized harmonizing to synchronal or initiation type generators. 3.1 Synchronous Generators The power convertor in Figure 2 refers to a rectifier, with constellation a being stator connected and the remainder being rotor connected [ 11 ] . 3.2 Initiation Generators As for initiation generators, typical constellations for air current farms are shown in Figure 3 below For constellation a, the power convertor is a soft starting motor whereas for constellation B and vitamin D, it refers to a frequence convertor. Configuration degree Celsius has an external variable rotor opposition [ 11 ] . 3.3 Fixed Speed and Variable Speed Wind Turbines In conventional systems, fixed velocity air current turbines are used in order to accomplish equal frequence of the grid and the electrical end product [ 6 ] . You read "With wind power technologies" in category "Essay examples" However, variable velocity air current turbines are has an advantage over fixed velocity air current turbines due to holding advanced power electronic constituents and good control for grid support. Fixed velocity turbines are by and large cheaper, simple and robust and Reference [ 7 ] presented a new control method to get the better of the restrictions and believes that the fixed velocity turbines will be popular once more if betterments are made over its grid support. Fixed velocity or variable velocity air current turbine design relies to a great extent on an optimal rotational velocity expressed by a factor called tip-speed ratio [ 6, 12 ] Wind turbines will work under certain tip-speed ratio for the coveted turbine efficiency. In Figure 4, a typical graph demoing the relation of air current turbine efficiency and tip-speed ratio is shown. Mentioning to the graph, accomplishing 47 % efficiency requires the air current turbine to hold a tip-speed ratio of 8 [ 13 ] . Figure 4: Example relation between air current turbine efficiency and tip-speed ratio [ 13 ] 3.4 Fixed Speed Generators Fixed Speed Synchronous Generators Fixed velocity synchronal generators produce end product frequence based on the turbine ââ¬Ës rotational frequence ; which implies that it is synchronized with the generator ââ¬Ës shaft velocity [ 6 ] . These machines can bring forth electricity by itself without the grid ââ¬Ës power, so in instance of care or fix plants, isolation of the generators must be implemented [ 6 ] for safety grounds. Fixed Speed Induction Generators Initiation generators are normally used for fixed velocity turbines, particularly squirrel-cage type generators and they connect straight to the AC grid without the demand for frequence convertors [ 13 ] . Reference [ 6 ] provinces that the grid ââ¬Ës excitement controls the frequence of the generator ââ¬Ës end product. When air current velocities go above the rated velocity threshold ( shutdown or roll uping wind velocity [ 5 ] ) of normally 25/ , the end product power is constrained by natural stall or active pitching of turbine blades and if that fails, the turbine is so stopped. For improved turbine efficiency, fixed wind generators can exchange between pole yokes to run at two different velocities [ 13 ] . This characteristic is to let low air currents velocity to hold better efficiency. Initiation generators are favoured for their low cost and isolation for care plants is non required compared to the synchronal generators, due to its inability to bring forth electricity when the grid ââ¬Ës power is cut off. However, initiation generators have a disadvantage of that it consumes reactive power from the grid, though including capacitances between the generator and the grid could counterpoise the job [ 6 ] [ 13 ] . Initiation generators besides require a cut-off system to avoid it moving as a motor when air current speeds lessenings. 3.5 Variable Speed Generators Through variable velocity generators, we can do the rotor to run at a fixed tip-speed ratio over changing air current velocities to obtain maximal efficiency [ 13 ] . This is achieved by utilizing frequence convertors or commanding the rotor ââ¬Ës faux pas [ 13 ] . The former method licenses wider velocity scope. Reference [ 10 ] has made a comparing survey on seven variable velocity changeless frequence ( VSCF ) air current generators dwelling of both synchronal and induction generators. The initiation generators studied specifically are double fed initiation generators ( DFIG ) and VSCF squirrel coop initiation generators ( SCIG ) , whereas the synchronal generator types were lasting magnet synchronal generators ( PMSG ) and electrically excited synchronal generator ( EESG ) [ 10 ] . Both of the synchronal generators are direct driven in contrast to the geared goaded initiation generators. Based on the comparing consequences, the geared driven double fed initiation generators ( DFIG ) emerged as the most appealing due to its high one-year energy production ( AEP ) per cost and lowest generator system cost and it is recommended for big power evaluation use [ 10 ] . Doubly Fed Induction Generator ( DFIG ) This lesion rotor machine can work as a variable-speed generator through debut of variable electromotive forces into its rotor at slip frequence [ 14 ] . The variable velocity is determined by the two IGBT based electromotive force beginning convertors ââ¬Ë evaluations and it is through these convertors that the rotor get the variable electromotive forces [ 14 ] . Section Four Offshore Wind Farm AC Transmission AC transmittal is a good developed engineering [ 15 ] and soon used in most air current farms [ 16 ] . For offshore air current farms that are below 100km distance from shore and less than 150MW capacity, high electromotive force AC ( HVAC ) transmittal is a favoured pick for being the most economical method [ 17 ] . AC transmittal has the advantages of [ 16 ] : Simpler installing, care and interconnectedness Cost effectual Operational consistence AC links are non used for longer distances due to high electrical capacity and bring forth reactive currents [ 15 ] . This implies bigger reactive power due to the bear downing currents produced as overseas telegrams become longer and reactive power compensators are needed [ 5 ] [ 15 ] . AC transmittal loses its economic entreaty when active current is less than the bear downing current [ 15 ] . The transporting burden current capacity of the AC overseas telegrams is reduced because the overseas telegrams must physically transport both burden and bear downing currents at the same clip [ 16 ] . Reference [ 16 ] shows that bear downing current is expressed by =2F where F is frequence, is electrical capacity and is electromotive force ; and the relation of current capacity is 2= 2+2, where is the overseas telegram current capacity and is load current. Based on look, utilizing DC outputs =0 at steady province [ 16 ] , which shows the advantage of DC holding higher transporting load current capacity. Besides bear downing currents, AC cables besides experience power losingss ( 2 ) [ 16 ] and there are bounds to a figure of AC overseas telegrams that can be installed due to the environment [ 18 ] . Section Five Offshore Wind Farm DC Transmission 5.1 HVDC Links Conventionally, offshore wind farms are connected to the grid via AC transmittal as antecedently stated. Latest developments nevertheless, have suggested that AC links are to be substituted with a District of Columbia transmittal system. Typically used for far wind farms of more than 60km, HVDC links are non limited by the length of transmittal and therefore will be a executable and economical option when air current farms are larger and further off from shore compared to AC links [ 1 ] . HVDC transmittal is associated with variable velocity air current turbines due to the ability to command the frequence of air current turbine grids and is independent of the power system frequence [ 11 ] . Reference [ 19 ] has stated the list of advantages of HVDC compared to HVAC, based on Reference [ 8 ] , which are: Independence of directing and having frequences every bit good as isolation of system from other webs. The distance of HVDC transmittal are unaffected by overseas telegram bear downing current. HVDC overseas telegrams are capable of higher transmittal capacity. Power losingss on overseas telegram are low. Controllability of power flow. 5.2 Wind Farm AC Grid Configuration The simplest DC grid connexion for air current farms is by feeding the AC grid air current turbines into a power convertor and linking it to the AC grid utilizing HVDC links. The figure below illustrates this. Figure 5: Group connexion of a air current farm to an HVDC nexus [ 11 ] The benefits of this constellation is that sum of power convertors are lessened compared to DC grid constellation, but they supply reactive power to the air current farm, enabling it to defy grid mistakes [ 11 ] . 5.3 Wind Farm DC Grid Configuration An alternate method is to hold each turbines have their ain rectifier such as Figure 6. Figure 6: Individual connexion of air current turbines to HVDC links [ 11 ] Compared to AC grid constellation, DC grid enables control of frequence and velocity of each single turbines [ 11 ] . Reference [ 1 ] explains the working of an DC grid air current farm in more item. Figure 7: Example of DC grid [ 1 ] Mentioning to Figure 7, the electromotive force from the air current generators is first rectified, gathered and so transferred to an offshore platform where the electromotive force is stepped up well by a DC/DC convertor, or else the system will endure high losingss during transmittal [ 1 ] . Power is so transmitted through a District of Columbia overseas telegram, connected to an inverter onshore and finally fed into the grid. 5.4 Line Commutated Control ( LCC ) HVDC utilizing Thyristors LCC transmittal require commuting electromotive force which is conventionally supplied through a normal or a inactive ( STATCOM ) type synchronal compensator [ 19 ] . The advantages of LCC systems in seaward air current farms are [ 19 ] : LCC transmittal can be used for high capacity power, making 1600MW nexus compared to VSC transmittals, which reach 300MW [ 17 ] . Over 30 old ages of development in LCC engineering The convertor station for an LCC system is twice the size in contrast to a VSC system due to the switchgears and breaker- switched AC harmonic filters necessitating much infinite. LCC systems have lower power losingss compared to VSC systems. 5.5 Voltage Source Converter ( VSC ) HVDC utilizing IGBTs Besides conventional LCC transmittal, another engineering is the electromotive force beginning convertor ( VSC ) transmittal utilizing IGBTs. The electromotive forces beginning comes from capacitances [ 20 ] . The advantages of VSC transmittals used in air current farms are [ 19 ] : VSC systems are self-commutating and external electromotive force beginning is non required for operation. Reactive power control does non necessitate switchable AC harmonic filters and is independent of active power control. The power reactive power flow is independently controlled, doing AC electromotive forces from each terminal controllable. 5.6 HVDC and HVAC Combination Not all offshore air current farms are built in it ââ¬Ës wholly. They are normally built in stages. For such state of affairss, Reference [ 21 ] recommends transmission combination of HVAC and HVDC. Preliminary stages of building of air current farms can use AC connexion due to the initial little graduated table and subsequently utilizing HVDC connexion as the air current farm ââ¬Ës scale expands [ 21 ] . Section Six Decision Overview of offshore air current farms has been presented in this literature reappraisal. Different topologies and internal grid connexions are outlined. Furthermore, we have looked into applications of synchronal and initiation generators used in air current turbines and explored the difference between fixed velocity and variable velocity generators, which are indispensable in air current turbines in regard to generated end product power. Finally, a general sum-up of the transmittal methods for offshore wind farms were documented, traveling into specific AC transmittal drawbacks and the emerging tendency of HVDC transmittals. Based on the generalised apprehension of the air current farms, we aim to further analyze the jobs of its connexion, with respects to the air current farm ââ¬Ës internal grid and AC transmittal to the chief grid. Comparisons between internal DC and AC grid of air current farms will besides be studied. Power flow surveies and simulations will be conducted and aimed at bring forthing new recommendations and solutions. Mentions C. Symbols in Death of a Salesman Miller Essay Example
Symbols in Death of a Salesman Miller Essay Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller is a play full of symbolism significantly communicating the central themes of failure within a successful orientated society, bringing us back to the idea of the desire for the American Dream. By the use of symbols Miller portrays Willy Lomans problems with his life and his self and also uses them to expand on issues concerning other characters like his two sons and wife, but these characters are often representing something themselves. From the start of the play there is a lot of amplification on growing seeds and it seems to be something Willy seems to feel very passionate about. Willy is preoccupied with being well known and leaving something to his family when he dies so he wants to grow something that will thrive, provide for others and remain after his own death solely providing thrive for his role as a father and a salesman. Also when Willy is talking about them it is almost like Miller is informing the audience of Willys emotive feelings Nothingââ¬â¢s planted. I donââ¬â¢t have a thing in the ground it seems thereââ¬â¢s a real pessimistic outlook for Willy and this could be symbolising how he feels about his life and his belongings too. One thing Willy feels deeply about if also his cars which they all seem to symbolise his mental well being throughout his life. When Willy is in his mobile concurrencyââ¬â¢s Miller portrays him in his happiest times of his life when all the family were together and he had an aim for him and his familyââ¬â¢s life. Another significant symbol Miller uses is the use of the stockings; Willy gives the stockings that are meant for Linda to his mistress, becoming a symbol of Willyââ¬â¢s sexual infidelity. Every time we see Linda mending her old stockings he also seems to get sensitive and precarious telling her ââ¬Å"I wonââ¬â¢t see stockings in my house. symbolising his own betrayal and guilty realisations of how he isnââ¬â¢t providing for his humble wife, the only one that does truly care for him and love him. Additionally the Lomans family donââ¬â¢t seem to be in a rewarding finance position too as Willy isnââ¬â¢t making the money heââ¬â¢d hoped for so him buying the stockings for his mistress and not for Linda who actually needed them is also a symbol of how Willy will put his ego-stroking affair over his loved ones and how the mistress and the new stockings fulfilled him with pride. In Willyââ¬â¢s mobile concurrencyââ¬â¢s we are introduced to Willyââ¬â¢s dead brother Ben, Ben is Willyââ¬â¢s hero in that Ben is his ideal of economic and personal success it seems Ben is symbolised as everything Willy wanted to be. However Ben also symbolises false sense of conduct as Benââ¬â¢s personality traits and leading words take Willy away from the realistic financial circumstances he is in. Ben also talks much about the diamonds that made in rich from the jungle, they seem to represent the idea of concrete wealth in Death of a salesman and Willyââ¬â¢s unsuccessfulness in selling. The diamonds represent pure, material achievement something Willy strives for and we know that Ben asked Willy a great amount of times to go to Alaska with him and become rich but he is so obsessed with the American Dream that he sees that as failure and would rather still to is under achievable job. Critics say that Willyââ¬â¢s need for Ben and his repetition of diamonds sometimes conflict with his need for Linda because Linda symbolizes something stable and certain, while Ben represents something unrealistic. Miller also puts much emphasis on the stage prop, the rubber hose reminding us of the symbol of suicidal and how desperate and weak Willy really is. Linda finds the rubber hose hidden behind the fuse box in the cellar, apparently trying to kill himself by inhaling gas which seems quite ironic as gas is one of the essential for homes as it provides heat, metaphorical portraying how Willy canââ¬â¢t even keep up with such basic necessities and how these necessities he has been working for every day in his life like the car and the gas could, under the surface, be killing him. Willyââ¬â¢s attempts of suicide seem to symbolise escape from reality and his failure in life and the American Dream.

The eNotes Blog Familiarity BreedsUmmmModerate BookSales
Familiarity BreedsUmmmModerate BookSales Its no secret that breaking into the best-seller ranks, especially in hardback sales, is becoming increasingly difficult for new fiction authors. This week, Publishers Weekly reported on the top-selling hardcover authors in 2010. The big dogs dominated, and most have been successfully keeping others away from the kibble for several years. Airport kiosk favoriteà James Patterson held six of the top spots on the list of thirty. Other familiar names crowded the field, including horror author Clive Cussler, mystery writer Janet Evanovich, and romance novelist Nora Roberts. Dominating not just hardback sales but trade paper, paperback, and e-books as well was Stieg Larsson, author of the The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest as well as the other novels in the Girl series. A few newcomers did manage to muscle into the top spots, among them Matterhorn: A Novel of the Vietnam War by Karl Marlantes, The Postmistress by Sarah Blake, The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman, and Major Pettigrews Last Stand by Helen Simonson. First-time novelist Kathyrn Stockett made the bestseller list with her novel, The Help, in 2009 and maintained her status in 2010. But for veterans and the lucky few newbies to make top sales alike, the news really isnt all that great. Sales are way down across the spectrum, and hardcoversà perhaps not surprisingly, given the economy and the popularity of e-readers, are seeing the lowest sales in years.à PW says that only 126 works of fictionclaimed sales of more than 100,000, only slightly fewer than the 130 in 2009, but 19% fewer than the 156 in 2008. In order to encourage sales in hardcover, many vendors offer steep discounts on bestsellers, often 25% to 30% off list prices, but of course, this cuts into the bottom line. When was the last time you bought a hardcover book? Did you pay full price?

Free sample - Chemistry of Fireworks. translation missing
Chemistry of Fireworks. Chemistry of FireworksThe Chemistry of fireworks is a very interesting field. A look at an amusement park or a baseball game, or such events such as New Yearââ¬â¢s Eve or Christmas Eve are just a few ways to show how much fun that comes our way from fireworks. This however is an intricate science requiring application of physical science. For instance, to produce a red chrysanthemum spray and an accompanying explosion requires certain components and materials such as an oxygen producer, color ejector, binder, fuel and propellants. There are three conspicuous and identifiable forms of energy produced by fireworks. These are heat, light and sound. The loud sound experienced in such events is attributed to the rapid release of energy into the atmosphere; hence the air expands at a greater rate than the speed at which sound travels. Therefore, a sonic boom which is a shock wave is produced. The chemistry behind fireworks is a series of oxidation and reduction reactions which result in the desired sound and light. This happens as propellants push the firework into the sky. Oxidation reactions ensure that the oxygen needed to exhaustively burn the mixture of reducing agents and excite the atoms in the light-emitting compounds is produced. Oxidizers used such as chlorates, nitrates and percolates and reducing agents such as carbon and sulfur are available of the shelf for home-made users. The combination of reducing agents with oxygen is there responsible for the energy dissipated during the reaction.Black powder, which mainly contains nitrates, is the most used oxidizer (Conkling, 1985). A look at an explosion under the use of potassium nitrate so as to provide nitrate ions (NO3-) after decomposition can be represented as: Potassium nitrateà potassium oxide + nitrogen gas + oxygen gas. 2KNO3 K2O+N2+2.502 The reaction is more controlled since when reacting, nitrates only release two in every three oxygen atoms, hence, the reaction is not exhaustive and vigorous since not all the oxygen atoms are actively used up. However, nitrates do not provide enough power to propel the firework into the sky and also ignite the package. Therefore, they cannot be used in star explosions since they cannot produce temperatures high enough to energize most color metal salts. Star reactions need a temperature ranging from 1700 to 2000à °C. This was enabled by the Italians in the 1830ââ¬â¢s whereby they came across more explosive oxidizers, chlorates (ClO3-), which give up all their committed oxygen atoms upon reaction. This can be illustrated by the equation below which is highly spectacular, vigorous and releases more energy. 2KClO3 2KCl+3 O2 à Potassium chlorate potassium chloride + oxygen gas. However, chlorates have the major demerit of being highly unstable, hence they can be dangerous to handle. On the merit side, chlorate can be easily ignited. For instance, dropping them on the ground can lead to a major explosion. This is since chlorates have the maximum potential of bonding with four oxygen atoms but they however bond with three. The fourth oxygen atom is left free, unsaturated and reactive. This makes chlorates better oxidizing agents. Further, in comparison to the slow-burning rate previously availed by nitrates, chlorates provide a faster reaction leading to a loud and exceedingly dangerous explosion. This was solved by the use of perchlorates which are more stable when releasing oxygen. The oxygen atoms in perchlorates are fully bonded hence stable. When reacting, perchlorates are able to release all their oxygen atoms. (Russell, 2009) KClO4à KCl+2O2 Potassium perchlorateà Potassium Chloride + oxygen gas So, perchlorates are not only more stable, but more oxygen-rich than chlorates. They, like chlorates, produce more vigorous reactions which produce hot, rapidly expanding oxygen atoms than nitrates in their star compartments. Carbon and sulfur in charcoal are the most common reducing agents. They are contained in black powder and react to produce carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide respectively. Oxygen + sulfurSulfur (IV) Oxide gas O2 (g) + S(s)à SO2 (g) Oxygen + carbonà Carbon (IV) Oxide gas O2 (g) + C(s)à CO2 (g) The magnanimous amount of energy released in these reactions and the hot rapidly expanding oxygen gas provide a basis for propulsion and consequent explosion. The chemistry of fireworks, so as to come up with a varying degree of colors has generated a lot of interest. Color is generated through two mainstream ways: Incandescence and luminescence. Incandescence entails the production of light by means of heat. When a substance glows as a result of heat, it first emits infrared wavelengths, then red light. Orange light is then produced as the object becomes progressively hotter, followed by yellow and finally white light. Under a controlled environment, the glow of reducing agents such as charcoal can be regulated at a certain temperature, hence emitting a particular color at the desired time. Temperature regulators that are most common are magnesium, aluminum and titanium. Luminescence is the production of light through other means other than heat. These can therefore occur at colder temperatures lower than room temperature since it is independent of any heat. An electron in an atom is first excited and destabilized by absorption of energy. The atom is then relegated to a lower energy state hence releasing the energy within via photons, the basics of light. The energy possessed by these photons consequently determines its wavelength or color. A major challenge in producing color through luminescence is that some salts used are unstable at room temperatures such as Barium chloride. Therefore, this problem must be solved by use of a combination of these salts with more stable compounds such as chlorinated rubber. For instance, in the combustion of the pyrotechnic composition between barium chloride and chlorinated rubber, a green color is produced. Other salts such as copper chloride which gives a blue color must be regulated not to attain high temperatures yet the brightness of the resultant blue color must be achieved. (Pressroom, 2010) Quality The quality of the resultant color produced by various factors can be compromised by various factors. First, pure colors require pure ingredients. No traces of impurities such as the dominant impurity, sodium, which gives a yellow-orange color, should be present since it easily overpowers all other colors. Secondly, the cost of the firework when the client is buying off the shelf often alludes to quality. Finally, it is important to note the date of manufacture and the skill and popularity attached to the manufacturer by other users. (Helmenstine, 2009) Firework Colorants How fireworks work. It is crucial to evaluate how both sparklers, which ensure production of bright light, and firecrackers, which enable the production of explosions, function. Firecrackers consist of black powder, commonly referred to as gun powder in a tight tube made of paper and fuse at one end so as to set the powder alit. The main compounds and elements of black powder are sulfur, charcoal and potassium nitrate. Further, some explosions are brightened the more by use of aluminum. On the other hand, sparklers are used to produce exceptionally bright and showery light for a longer period of time that can last up to a minute. There are commonly referred to as ââ¬Ësnowball sparklersââ¬â¢ since they are accompanied by a ball of sparks surrounding the burning epicenter. A sparkler constitutes various compounds. Key among them is oxidizers, fuel, binder such as starch or sugar and iron or steel powder. They are mixed in water to form slurry which is then coated on a wire through dipping. This is then dried. It is then ready for use whereby it can be lit in order to burn end to end like a cigarette. In sparklers, oxidizers and fuel are carefully proportioned with other compounds so as it burns slowly rather than explode as is the case with firecrackers. Fireworks however are more complex in their manufacture. Bright shimmering sparks have to be induced by adding steel or iron, aluminum, magnesium and zinc. These metal flaks heat up to attain high temperatures that ensure production of light by incandescence beyond which they burn exhaustively. To create a wide range of colors, various chemical addictives are used. Aerial FireworksThese are large, conspicuous and colorful fireworks that can be observed on major celebrations such as the Fourth of July. The aerial firework shell contains: stars which are small cylinders, cubes or spheres that contain the compounds needed; container which has the pasted paper for instructions and things such as company name and an accompanying string; the bursting charge located at the center of the shell; and a fuse which ensures delay in time till the firecracker attains the right altitude. A lifting charge is located below the shell. A mortar is used to launch an aerial firecracker. This is a small, steel pipe containing black powder that serves as the lifting charge. When this is fired, the shell fuse is lit which burns progressively up to the desired height, then explodes. A simple shell, such as those used in an aerial display, contains stars in the blue balls, and a grey part containing black powder and the center tube containing the bursting charge. Multi- break shells burst over two or three phases. They have a variety of colors and compositions so as to contain various degrees of light and sparks. Multi-break shells have various compartments or sections in one with different fuses. Each shell bursts and consequently ignites the other through break charges, each with a different effect and possible color. Fireworks Displays The pattern painted in the sky by an aerial shell chiefly depends on the order and arrangement of star pellets in the shell. For instance, equally spaced pellets in a circle with the accompanying black powder produce a mid-air display of minor star explosions uniformly spaced in a circle. A specific figure can therefore be created by arranging the star pellets in the outline of the figure desired. Place explosive charges in the interior of the figure so as to blow them outside into a large figure as desired. Then, surround this with a layer of break charge so as to separate them with the rest of the shell contents. This break charges must be set to explode at the desired time. (Ashby, 2007) There are several shell names in the market: Firework Safety/ Conclusion à In conclusion, it is important to note that fireworks are sources of sun but they have however come along with various precautions that have to be adhered. Fireworks are used in most of todayââ¬â¢sââ¬â¢ public celebrations. However, they are dangerous if mishandled. Over 8000 United States are reported to suffer every year due to fireworks. Of whom more than half are children. The most common hazard experienced by more than a third of the cases is burns which have been reported to occur from illegally acquired fireworks. Hence, there are a number of regulations that have been put in place to ensure mishandling reduces. The statute organization chiefly responsible for consumer fireworks is the National Council on Fireworks Safety. It educates the public on how to responsibly handle and use fireworks. The National Fire Protection Association is responsible for enforcing rigorous safety regulations for big fireworks displays. Spectators are required to watch at least 840 feet from the launching zone based on the height and burst diameter of the largest of shells. Secondly, shells cannot be launched if the winds at that particular time are stronger than 20 miles per hour, since they would be carried away over the set diameter thereby causing harm to onlookers. However, despite all these regulations that have been put in place, many accidents still do occur at informal and poorly regulated places. Manufacturers are also required by law to set up buildings in the manufacturing plants that are separated by concrete blast walls from any other buildings with roofs weakened so as any resultant explosion travels upwards instead of outwards. Further, mechanization in the industry is limited and work is mainly done by hand since machines may produce sparks or static charges that would be disastrous in causing explosions. However, some disasters have occurred between 1970 and 1995 resulting in the death of more than 20 factory employees. Environmentally Friendly Fireworks Most animals are scared by the explosions resulting from displays. Most regulations and rules bar people from attending such events with their pets in tow. Sadly, cases of pets getting lost at such events have been reported. Wide research is continuing on hoe to combine various elements into pyrotechnic compounds and mixtures have been made. This produces minimal smoke and particulate matter. This shall replace oxidizers such as perchlorates which are environmentally harmful.

RFID and online shopping Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
RFID and online shopping - Assignment Example This gives leverage to exploit hackers and online criminals to exploit the age of the internet. Technology is moving into human bodies quickly (Keenan, 2014). Humans are gradually becoming slaves to technology. Software and machines know the most intimate secrets of a person. Apps and devices track blood-sugar level, heart rate and blood pressure. It wonââ¬â¢t be hard for a hacker to sell medication to diabetic patients after obtaining this useful information. One does not even need to be that illegal to exploit internet privacy. Studying shopping habits is becoming a science in itself. The internet has provided so many in-depth tools to marketers that they can explore shopping behaviors by regions (towns, suburbs etc.) and persons. A shopper might put in some key words in the search engine and in just a few seconds he might see banner ads selling the exact or a relevant product to this person. This precise form of marketing is frightening. It reveals how much activity of a person can be tracked over the internet. One study conducted on online shoppers showed that the privacy concern is a major impediment of truthful and deep online interaction (Flick, 2009). Shoppers are always concerned about their information security. Different credible shopping websites have to show a licensed banner for the online security of their fund transfers. News of identity theft, credit card scams, online stalking and threats over social media are not new. The surprising part is that not everyone engages so much over the internet to become a victim of cybercrimes. Internet privacy is among the most widely discussed subjects in print and electronic media (Chamorro-Premuzic, 2014). A significant number of people are now informed of this menace. People are not comfortable giving sensitive information online. But modern lifestyle almost demands engagement with technology and modern shopping trends. People are outsourcing their lives to

Transformer Assignment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Transformer Assignment - Essay Example A simple way to remember it is the Left Hand Thumb rule. If we grasp the conductor in our left hand with our thumb extended in the direction of current (from ââ¬âve to +ve), our finger will point in the direction of magnetic lines of forces. When two or more current carrying conductors are placed parallel to each other in a way that the direction of current is the same in all of them, as shown in Figure 2, then the magnetic lines of forces aid each other to combine and strengthen the magnetic field further. If the two conductors so placed have current flowing in opposite direction then the magnetic lines oppose each other to deform and weaken the magnetic field. The magnetic field around the conductor exists at points along the length of the conductor. When the conductor is wound in the shape of a coil, as in Figure 3, then magnetic field around each turn of the coil is aided and strengthened by the fields of adjacent turns in the coil. The resultant is a magnetic field resembling a bar magnet with one end as North and the other as South of the magnet. When the direction of current is reversed it causes the direction of magnetic field to be reversed. If we grasp the coil with our left hand with our fingers pointing in the direction of current, as in Figure 4, the thumb will point in the direction of magnetic field. Conversely, to what we have discussed till now, if a conductor is placed in a magnetic field and there is a relative movement between the field and the conductor, an electromotive force (emf) is induced in the conductor. This effect is called electromagnetic induction. Both of these phenomenons, of creating a magnetic field and then utilizing electromagnetic induction form the basis of transformers. At one end alternating current (AC) is passed through a coil, this gives rise to a magnetic field which spreads out and subsides with the same frequency as of the AC applied. This changing magnetic field in fact is a replacement to moving

A Description of My Room: The Comfortable Chill Room :: descriptive essay, personal narrative,
My room is what everyone calls ââ¬Å"The Chill Roomâ⬠. In this room there are all kinds of items that been collected throughout the years. There are several black lights, posters, and a bumping stereo. And even though my room is small it easily holds everything to make it comfortable and chill. At night the black lights engulf the whole ceiling with light. The light includes a tinge of blue which emitted by one of the black lights. This light is a 42 inch double fixture which was painted fluorescent blue. The light from the two tubes hits the blue coloring, giving the blue to everything in the room. The other black light has an all black fixture that emits no color except the color it all ready produces and measured the same as the other black light (42â⬠). There are few items in this room that are black light sensitive; from posters to glass material the room has many highlight glowing. The black light gives a lot of character to the room in the sense of whoever enters the room, suddenly changes color. Clothes go from white to light purple and the color of the clothes sometimes changes. Different lighting effects are also used to help give the room more of a relaxing and chill environment. A small light covered in blue plastic wrap sit in place inside my closet. Thi s light is bright enough only to light just the closet, yet it does not impede on the acquired blue tinge. A dark blue lava lamp which is on day and night is placed near my television, which also gives the room a unique look to it. A large variety of posters fill every wall that represents few interests. The majority of the posters consist of ICP (Insane Clown Posse). These posters were collected through the internet, and some were given by friends. Anyone who walks into the room can tell what type of music is preferred by looking at some the posters on the walls. Such artists as SPM (South Park Mexicans) from Huston, Tx. the whole crew from Metallica, and an almost life size picture of a pit-bull, it all gives the room a nice touch of style. You can see a few pictures of cars on the walls: Ferraris, BMW, racing cars and customized cars. Last but not least the stereo system. This SONY three disk CD player is capable of producing 500watts of sound.

Gender Discrimination Essay
Good Morning class. So, today I am going to enlighten you on the topic Gender Discrimination and how it has affected our society in general. But, before I elaborate further I would like to give you a brief and separate understanding of ââ¬Å"Genderâ⬠and ââ¬Å"Discriminationâ⬠as independent words. There is a lot of misconception when it comes to understanding the word Gender. As it sometimes hard to understand exactly what is meant by the term ââ¬Å"Genderâ⬠and how it differs from the closely related term ââ¬Å"Sexâ⬠. ââ¬Å"Genderâ⬠refers to the socially constructed roles, behaviors, activities and attributes that a given society considers appropriate for men and women. Meanwhile, ââ¬Å"Sexâ⬠refers to a biological and physiological characteristics that define men and women. On the other hand, ââ¬Å"Discriminationâ⬠is the unfair treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the basis of race, age, or sex. As said early ive given a breakdown of what gender is and what discrimination are. Gender discrimination is a global issue which is present everywhere, in every culture, in every country and even in religions. For many years people have suffered being discriminated by their sex. Gender discrimination also known as sex discrimination basically involves unfair treatment or decision making based on a personââ¬â¢s sex. In my own opinion gd or rather discrimination based on gender is a belief or mindset we as human beings have let ourselves to judge people not as human beings only, but as males and females. This has been passed on and on for several generations on the basis of traditionally stereotypical roles people have in the society. Such as, Womanââ¬â¢s role is to marry have children, caring, nurturing. The male stereotypical role is to be the financial provider (breadwinner). He is also courageous and career-focused. It is a fact from ancient times women are considered an inferior gender to men. i have to say for everywoman here in this class lets start by admitting were lucky we dnt live in the world our mothers or grandmothers lived in, where career choices for women were limited. And also for most of us in this class we are privileged we grew up and we are still growing up in a world were we have basic civil rights and amazingly we still live in a world were some women donââ¬â¢t have them. I saw this documentary in the pass on feminisim and sexism. Documentary on afghan. India. Its a lot to take in. we live in the same geberation but totally diff worlds So, Gender discrimination is a very serious issue and it has contributed in major setback in various societies. Although gender it is traditionally viewed as a problem normally encountered by females, we also have to accept the fact that, It has as well significantly affected males as well. Because jobs historically held by women are often shunned by men because of social humiliation. And boys are being pushed more to succeed than girls, and why is that? Nevertheless, women are still the number one and the major victims of gender discrimination. Because men happen to be more sexist than women. Sexism has always had negative consequences for women. . it is the cause that has prevented women from pursuing successful careers. In Saudi. And it is a problem and a real problem. That women are not making it to the top of any profession anywhere in this world. Out of a 190 head of states only 9 are women, when you look at the world parliament over 70per are men. The argument has often been motherhood. that Women are opting out of work they wanna care for their chidren. But what is found in reality is that women are way hard working than men and I dnt see how motherhood comes in the way pursuing a career and actually being successful innit, I agree it is quiet challenging and demanding especially during the first 2years. When we look at it There a lot of women out there who are doing it, even working 2,3 jobs and still go back to their kids at home and still are able to raise a decent family. What do we say about the single mothers out there, there out there and they are still making, only if women were given as equal opportunity as men, they certainly will excel more. that is where the problem comes women we systematically underestimate our abilities, and what women need to learn is how to own their own success. as I also said earlier discrimination comes in diif forms now we talk about Discrimination against women which comes in different forms as well; women are discriminated against in work place, regarding employment, wages, work promotions even victims of sexual harassment. Women are often discriminated against their physical ability in athletics and sports world. In several cultures or even religions around the world. Years ago, When a child is born female, they are automatically at lower advantage than if born male. For example in some cultures years ago, if a woman gives birth to a female child it is seen as a curse upon that family and the female baby is buried alive. The mindset that men are stronger and more superior to women really comes down to moral issues that has been passed from several generations and even in our present governance, where men are given an upper hand. And the truth of what was found in reality is women entering the work force make 20per less than men, who are equally qualified , with higher gpaââ¬â¢s and college degrees. All this problems we face as young women like myself is due to lack of knowledge. We of this generation we tot these problems have been solved. In many ways we didnââ¬â¢t learn about feminism in sch and we dnt knw our history based on this issue. However, I think weve come immensely far we have certainly come a long way were women are entering the work force in equal numbers as men than in the last century. And also Due to improvements in the quality of and access to education for women and the forces of globalization, gender equality has been improving in most countries. Today women are fairly given equal rights such as voting and taking part in government of most countries. But, we havenââ¬â¢t come far enough. Because there is still a huge gender gap in the world of politics. We still have a long way to go before reaching equality with men in the world of politics. Gender discrimination still exists in our society. Until we are able to accept each other as human beings not defined by gender. And only when our biased methods of judging genders are changed; only then the society will be able to live together in peace.

Sleepwalking Sleepwalking has always attracted a sense of mystery and suspense. Has anyone here ever watched someone who was sleepwalking? I have. I was 13 years old and it was in camp when I watched my friend get out of bed and walk to the front door of our bunkhouse. I had no idea that she was sleepwalking. I tried whispering her name but when she didnââ¬â¢t turn around, I just figured she hadnââ¬â¢t heard me. I called out to her louder but still she didnââ¬â¢t respond. Thatââ¬â¢s when I noticed the faraway look on her face. Her eyes were glazed over and her face had a blank stare. She didnââ¬â¢t turn back; she just kept walking straight towards the door. It was a very eerie thing to watch. I remember not being able to do anything but stare atâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Symptoms of sleepwalking include: * Walking during sleep * Taking in sleep and saying things that do not make sense * Sitting up and appearing awake during sleep * Opening eyes, having a blank look during sleep * Performing detailed activity of any type during sleep * Acting confused or disoriented when they wake up What are its treatments?
